Watch out! My 3 y.o. took my beta tank apart a few weeks ago. She used a net I had nearby, took the beta out, he landed on the tissue box, and she can running into us saying "The fishy, I was playing with him, come look!".
Yeah, nothing good will come out of it. I hid the net and told her "NO!".
Good thing she said something cause they don't take long to die or dry out.
Your idea sounds great though! Just be sure to explain that they can't live outside the water.
How sweet! My 4yo wants a fish to "play" with. I'm going to get her a cheap-o fish tank with a couple of goldfish and she how she handles it.
