Roswell!

I LOVE this series! It's old, from 1999, but it's awesome! It has Katherine Heigl from Grey's Anatomy in it. And it's sooooo much like Twilight it's not even funny! The premise is the same any way and it's great, if not even better than Twilight. They totally should have made Twilight a series and not a motion picture. More money from a movie I guess.

Roswell
Left to Right above: Isabel Evans (Katherine Heigl), Max Evans (Jason Behr), Liz Parker (Shiri Appleby), and Michael Guerin (Brenden Fehr)

Max (Edward) is an alien. He outs himself as one to save Liz's (Bella) life after she is shot in the chest at the Crash Down diner. They create a bond instantly. Everyone is suspicious but they manage to cover it up only by the hair of their chiny chin chins. Max has a sister, Isabel, played by Katherine Heigl, and a best friend, Michael.

I've watched all 22 issues of season 1 for free on Hulu.com. I've added season 2 to my queue on Blockbuster.com and can't wait to get them in the mail. Hubby needs to watch some and return his!

I highly recommend watching this series but if you like it by the 4th or 5th episode I'd recommend getting season 2 lined up some way or form, cause you will want to watch more by the time you get to the last episode of season 1. There are only 3 seasons of this show. I really hope it ends well and not leaving me feeling lacking. That would be a bummer.

Have you already watched this series? What did you think? Can you compare it to Twilight?

  1. Hey Jess, I watched this show when it was on and loved it! In fact, I remember at some point (don't recall if they moved the nights around)it was on Monday night. I gave birth to my first in 2001. On a Monday afternoon. That night, I was holding my newborn in the hospital telling my husband to hurry and get the TV on because it was time for Roswell. LOL I did not care that I had given birth just hours before. I was not missing that damn show. Luckily, I had short, easy births. I still sigh when I think of Max. Yum.

You know, I never thought about Roswell being like Twilight. I can see what you mean though. I've forgotten so much about this series. I may have to watch it again. Thanks. There are so few shows I really love these days.I was a die hard 90210 fan back in the day. Of course, I was a teenager when it was on and therefore the perfect age to watch it. I also loved Buffy, Angel, Zena, etc. I got so made fun of...ah, the good old days.

Twilight would be an awesome TV series! You never know, Buffy was a movie that was turned into a phenomenal series--better than the movie actually. Sorry to be long winded. Hubby is gone, my oldest is staying with my mother and my youngest likes to entertain herself most of the time, so I am virtually alone. Time to start another book.

  2. Leigh Ann! I'm so happy to see you commenting! Woohoo!

I'm so loving this series! I never knew it existed until a few days ago when some site I went to was comparing this show to Twilight. It was basically accusing Stephenie of taking this storyline and switching it with vampires.

I'm so hooked and I want season 2 like yesterday! I actually just finished the last episode this afternoon but come on! I thought for sure I'd be able to find it online like the first season but NO! Blah.

It's late. I need to go to bed.

Hope you had a good night!

  3. Y'all I was obsessed with this show for the first and second season (that's when it starts sucking: watch out.) I even still have my signed poster from one of the two times (TWO TIMES--THIS IS DEDICATION/TEENAGE LUST) I met Brendan Fehr.
