WoW: Deep Kiss of Winter by Gena Showalter & Kresley Cole

So, I was just sitting here reading other lovely review blogs when I get an email from an author. Not just any author but GENA SHOWALTER! One of my most favorite authors.

She’s an amazing story teller. She builds awesome worlds and writes a mean love scene.

She’s so awesome and thinks I’m awesome that she’s sending me a copy of Deep Kiss of Winter by her and Kresley Cole, SIGNED by both her and Kresley! How cool is that!?!

I’m super excited! I almost purchased a copy from Davis-Kidd who is having copies signed and shipped to you! It’s a bit pricey but some would justify it as worth it. (I’m on a budget and unemployed!) Orders must be submitted before October 15th.

Total cost for book, tax & shipping within the Continental U.S. is $32.76.

There are also some contests where you can enter and win a copy! See Gena’s “Win Deep Kiss of Winter” blog post for the details.

Or you can just order a copy on with out the super awesome signatures. Lame, I know, but worth it any way.

Deep Kiss of Winter

Summary (

Under the cover of wintry dark shadows, passion's magic ignites a fire too hot to touch -- and too wicked to die....

Two never-before-published paranormal stories to delight the senses and tantalize the imagination!

delivers a breathtaking tale of a brutal vampire soldier about to know love for the first time...and a Valkyrie aching to be touched.

Murdoch Wroth will stop at nothing to claim Daniela the Ice Maiden -- the delicate Valkyrie who makes his heart beat for the first time in three hundred years. Yet the exquisite Danii is part ice fey, and her freezing skin can't be touched by anyone but her own kind without inflicting pain beyond measure. Soon desperate for closeness, in an agony of frustration, Murdoch and Danii will do anything to have each other. Together, can they find the key that will finally allow them to slake the overwhelming desire burning between them?

puts a daring spin on a tale of huntress and hunted...and concocts a sensual chemistry that is positively explosive.

Aleaha Love can be anyone -- literally. With only skin-to-skin contact, she can change her appearance, assume any identity. Her newest identity switch has made her an AIR (alien investigation and removal) agent and sends her on a mission to capture a group of otherworldly warriors. Only she becomes the captured. Breean, a golden-skinned commander known for his iron will who is at once dangerous and soul-shatteringly seductive, threatens her new life. Because for the first time, Aleaha only wants to be herself....

I can’t wait to read this! I’m guessing Kresley’s story will be first but I plan to read Gena’s first. Or should I save the best for last?

Gena’s Books on

Here’s a slideshow of Gena’s books. There are some that aren’t on here because there isn’t cover art so check out Gena on My favorite book of hers is The Vampire’s Bride. It’s book 4 of her Atlantis series but it’s amazing.

I’ll let you know what I think when I’m doing with it!

  1. Jess, I've been a fan of your blog for a long time now and I already know how awesome you are! In fact, I troll your blog when I'm looking for a new read--which is what I'm doing right now. Can't wait for the review!

I'm not sure what book of Gena's is my fav...I LOVED The Vampire's Bride too and I also loved Playing with Fire. Hmmm, so many awesome Gena books to choose from.

  2. Thanks Leigh Ann! :)

And you know the sequel to Playing With Fire is coming out soon, right?! Twice as Hot is to be released January 26, 2010. :) Can't wait!

  3. I'm so green with envy! I was dissapointed to learn this book was going to be Hardback b/c thats more mulah then I would have liked to spend. Heck, who am I kidding? I'd buy any book from either Gena Showatler or Kresley Cole.

    Great post!

  4. JeSS~
First, that is awesome! What a gift!
I would love to have that kind of relationship with authors, as there are few things I love more than books :)
And u've officially recruited a new Gena Showatler reader! I've been planning on getting Intertwined, but was not at all familiar w/Gena's work. But I like your blog b/c I noticed that your reviews tended to closely match my opinions on the books I've read, too so I can take your word for it and look forward to getting this book!

  5. I love getting those types of mails in my inbox. YAY for you!!
