In My Mailbox: Week 9

I went to NYC last weekend and visited Strand for the first time! :) It was fun. They really didn’t have too many ARCs to choose from but a few I already had.

Strand

Stolen by Lucy Christopher

Gemma, 16, is on layover at Bangkok Airport, en route with her parents to a vacation in Vietnam. She steps away for just a second, to get a cup of coffee. Ty--rugged, tan, too old, oddly familiar--pays for Gemma's drink. And drugs it. They talk. Their hands touch. And before Gemma knows what's happening, Ty takes her. Steals her away. The unknowing object of a long obsession, Gemma has been kidnapped by her stalker and brought to the desolate Australian Outback. STOLEN is her gripping story of survival, of how she has to come to terms with her living nightmare--or die trying to fight it.

The Line by Teri Hall

An invisible, uncrossable physical barrier encloses the Unified States. The Line is the part of the border that lopped off part of the country, dooming the inhabitants to an unknown fate when the enemy used a banned weapon. It’s said that bizarre creatures and superhumans live on the other side, in Away. Nobody except tough old Ms. Moore would ever live next to the Line.

Nobody but Rachel and her mother, who went to live there after Rachel’s dad died in the last war. It’s a safe, quiet life. Until Rachel finds a mysterious recorded message that can only have come from Away. The voice is asking for help.

Who sent the message? Why is her mother so protective? And to what lengths is Rachel willing to go in order to do what she thinks is right?

I also bought this cute tote bag!

Don’t know what NetGalley is? Go check them out!

netgalley_logo I think it’s awesome that publishers are on the band wagon to get ARCs out via eBook format. And it just so happens that I own and enjoy reading on my Kindle, even though I haven’t read on it in FOREVER. However, it is charged and ready to be used! Soon. :)

What did you get this week?

IMM is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.
