Short Review: Fallen by Lauren Kate

Fallen by Lauren Kate

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.
Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.
Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

My Grade: 3/5

There was lots and lots of hype for this book that it made me think it was going to be super awesome. I’m afraid it lacked in the awesome department.

The beginning of this book was terrible and I mean it was just all over the place lacking in real substance. But I was determined to give this book my full attention.

The ending was awesome and should really have been used as the beginning and worked from from that point on.

The main characters were likeable. The overall plot was okay. I think I’d like to read more but I’d hope that the author would step it up a bit. :)]

  1. I had a similar reaction. It started out a bit too slow for my tastes, and by the end I still had quite a few questions. I will be reading the second book, though! And the cover is great!

  2. That's kind of my reactions after reading this book. It was ok - but not that great. One thing that bugged me a bit was that almost EVERY character turned out to be a supernatural being!

  3. I agree with you, I expected this book to be awsome too but it turned out be a dissapointment just like hush, hush. the book was very depressing and my eyes started to droop while reading it. I thought that both daniel and luce had no personality and very boring. It wasn't terrtible but it wasn't good either. I would still read torment when it comes out

  4. This book was a huge disappointment for me. I doubt I will read the next book unless I come across it at the library or if you give it a kick ass review.:)
