Kindle for PC! Free eBooks!

You’ve probably already read about this but I wanted to make a very important point about the Kindle for PC application.

When you buy a Kindle book it gets saved in your digital library on Amazon.com.
So you don’t like to read eBooks on your PC? I agree. So you don’t have a Kindle or don’t plan to buy on in the new few months? That’s cool.
But what if one day you do buy one? Wouldn’t it be nice to already have a library of books just waiting for you to read on your new shiny device?
I was browsing the Kindle store last night. I bought 13 eBooks. Each and every one of them cost me $0.00, were delivered wirelessly to my Kindle, and will be forever a part of my digital library on Amazon.com, unless they deem them copyright whatcha-whatever and remove it without my permission, but no worries because it was free. :) Granted a majority of these are books that are available free digitally just about everywhere: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cinderella, Black Beauty, White Fang, Treasure Island, Pride and Prejudice, and Anna Karenina.
And maybe, just maybe, one day these “kindle” formatted eBooks will be reformatted to be read on other devices.
Either way, it doesn’t hurt to buy free books right? Or maybe you don’t mind reading on your PC? I personally hate it but hey, if the book is free and I don’t have any money for new books I just might have to resort to this option, well not the PC part because I do have a Kindle, but you know what I mean. :)
So, if you haven’t already downloaded the Kindle for PC application then do it. And troll the Kindle store for free books often, because there really are some decent reads available.
Here’s a few books I’ve bought recently for $0.00!

The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, Book 1) by James Patterson

Fireflies in December (Center Point Christian Fiction (Large Print)) by Jennifer Erin Valent

The Pawn (Patrick Bowers) by Steven James

By Reason of Insanity by Randy Singer

Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Entertaining by Beth Hensperger

The above links go to their print formats but you can see under the print price the other format options and their prices. I don’t know how long Kindle books are available as free downloads but I follow an awesome blog that lets me know about free Kindle books all the time and that would be: Books on the Knob.
So, go download Kindle for PC and start your new free digital library!

  1. I got my Kindle 1 the other day, and I am really excited about it. This sounds like a pretty good idea. I will check it out. Thanks, Jessica!

  2. I wanted to give it a try, kind of as a "test drive" for kindle, and so far I like it. I even bought a few books for $0.00 that are not free anymore!
